What You'll Create
In this activity, you will create an original slide show. You will build upon many of the techniques covered in Activity 1 to include a variety of elements in your presentation.
Why
This activity is what PowerPoint is all about; using it to communicate information to others. Here you will have an opportunity to experience the process of gathering information and formatting and presenting it in a compelling way to the rest of your class.
Features to include
- Your slideshow should be between 8-12 slides in length. Check with your teacher.
- Include an Introduction and Conclusion slide. Count them as two of your slides.
- Cite your sources (this means providing URLs to web sites).
- Show signs that you have included concepts demonstrated in Activity 1.
- Include text, pictures and sounds in your show.
- Song clips should play for no longer than four slides each.
- You should include a combination of clip art and photos in the slide show.
- Your slide show should be timed to play on its own and be between 2 1/2 - 3 minutes in length.
- Be sure to save your slide show in a folder with all the proper file names (see the orientation section for help).
What should your slide show be about?
Topic: Focus on 'how-to' do something. You should layout the steps or components involved that would teach someone (who didn't know the topic) enough to give them a basic grasp of the materials covered.
How long should it be?
Length: The slide show need to be 8-12 slides long. The first slide is your introduction (title of show and your name) and the final slide being the conclusion slide ("thanks for watching"). The show should be between 2-3 minutes in length
