Broad Based Technology

New Brunswick

For the 2020-2021 school year - this site is being retired.

Visitors, just like you, have used this site over 500,000 times since it was launched in 2007. Thanks for using the site to learn about some of the technologies that are a part of our lives.

For the PowerPoint module, the graphics for the Puppy PowerPoint will be included in the module pages (so download them and then include thert of our lives. Best of luck this year!

Doing the Puppy PowerPoint Assignment

Recently Microsoft changed how they use clipart in MS Office. So, to do the PowerPoint assignment, the Puppy slideshow, you'll need this file. You can right click and save as... then extract the files to a folder on your computer. The dog on the last slide is a bit different, but will still work.

A new resource for BBT

Changes are coming to the BBT curriculum and a new website is in development. You can take a look at the site here. Currently the modules there are being tested in pilot schools, but you are free to use them as well. Please both of these sites are resources, not the actual curriculum itself. As such, teachers are free to use as much or as little of this material as they wish in implementing BBT in their classrooms.

Weather Module Updated

The weather module has had many of the links updated. Old and broken links have been replaced.

New PowerPoint 2010 module

We have updated the PowerPoint module to the 2010 version. Both versions will still be included and the assignments are the same.

With Office 2013 on the market, and most schools using Office 2010, you'll find some of these Office 2003 based modules to be less helpful than they used to be. We hope to update some material to be useful to people with different versions of MS Office, and materials on the new BBT site will be more version independent. We will post information about changes and updates here. Old module won't be removed, so if you're interested in Office 2003 you can still use the original modules.

What is NBBBT?

This web site is home to a provincial initiative to provide modules for BBT classrooms. Please take your time and explore.

To search the web (and not just the NBBBT site), uncheck the NBBBT box.

Currently we have over 300 instructional videos as well as several guides and examples.
